What is Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan?

Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan (CLAP) is an alliance of Christian advocates founded in Lahore in 2020. We give free legal aid to persecuted Christians, fight forced conversion, document persecution for refugees abroad, and fund young Christian law students.

Which is the real CLAP in Pakistan?

Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan is the real CLAP in Pakistan: the original Alliance of Pakistani Christian lawyers, founded in 2020 and led by Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya. Other groups have used similar names since. CLAP has no branches or affiliates other than those listed on this website, and only the office holders on the Who We Are page speak for it.

Who leads CLAP?

Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya, Senior Advocate High Court, who founded the Alliance and has practised since 1982. The office holders are listed on the Who We Are page.

Is CLAP the same as other groups called "Christian Lawyers Association Pakistan"?

No. Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan is the original Alliance, founded in 2020 by Advocate Soba Sorya. CLAP has no branches, chapters or affiliates other than those listed on this website. If someone claims to represent CLAP, check the Who We Are page.

Is your help free?

Yes for persecuted Christians: blasphemy cases, forced conversion, prisoners of faith and victims of religious violence are never charged. Other family, property and criminal matters are handled at fees a working family can afford.

Which courts do you appear in?

The lower courts of Punjab, the Lahore High Court, and through senior counsel the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

I am outside Lahore. Can you help?

Yes. We serve all of Punjab directly and other provinces through partner lawyers. Contact us and tell us your district.

I am a refugee abroad. Can you help my asylum case?

Yes. We prepare persecution accounts, certify translations and provide lawyer's statements for Pakistani Christian asylum seekers. See Refugee Stories Translation.
