Legal Aid for the Persecuted

No Christian in Pakistan should suffer in silence, and no one should sit in prison because they could not afford a lawyer. Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan (CLAP) was founded in 2020 for exactly this reason. Under Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya, our advocates take persecution cases free of charge.

Whom we help

Those the Alliance stands beside

  • Christians accused under the blasphemy laws, and their families
  • Prisoners of faith who have never had a lawyer
  • Survivors of mob attacks on churches and homes
  • Families threatened, evicted or boycotted for their faith
  • Christian workers punished at work for refusing to convert
What we do

Five steps, at no cost to the family

1
Immediate response.

A lawyer contacts the family within 24 hours of a request.

2
Police and bail.

We attend the police station, secure FIR registration or challenge a false FIR, and apply for bail.

3
Trial defence.

We represent the accused through trial and appeal, at no cost.

4
Protection.

We seek court protection orders and work with partners to move families to safety.

5
Documentation.

We record every case so that the persecution of Christians in Pakistan is a matter of evidence, not rumour.

How to ask for help

Contact us through the Get in Touch page with the name of the accused, the district, the police station and the FIR number if you have it. If you are calling for someone in prison, tell us the jail. Every request is confidential.
