About Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan
Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan (CLAP) is a fellowship of Christian advocates who put their profession at the service of the persecuted church in Pakistan. We give free legal aid to Christians who are falsely accused, imprisoned, abducted, or driven from their homes for their faith. We speak for them in the courts, we document their stories for the world, and we train the next generation of Christian lawyers.
Founded in 2020, carried since 1982
CLAP was founded in 2020 when a group of born-again, Spirit-filled Christian lawyers came together under the leadership of Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya. The Alliance formalised a work its founder had carried alone since his enrolment in 1982. Today CLAP includes advocates of the Lahore High Court and the lower courts, a press office, and a growing circle of law students.
Practising advocates, committed Christians
Every CLAP lawyer is a practising advocate enrolled with the Punjab Bar Council or the Lahore High Court, and a committed Christian. Our senior members have decades of civil and criminal practice. Our younger members bring training from Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
