Practice Areas

Eight fields of practice, from the police station to the High Court. Every matter is handled under the guidance of Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya, Senior Advocate High Court, and every matter begins with a free first consultation.

Blasphemy and religious persecution defence

False accusations under sections 295 and 298 of the Pakistan Penal Code can end a life before a trial begins. CLAP provides immediate legal representation, bail applications, security for the accused and their family, and a defence built on evidence and procedure. Our lawyers have handled such cases from the police station to the High Court.

Forced conversion and abduction

When a Christian girl is abducted, forcibly converted and married, the first hours matter. We file recovery and habeas corpus petitions, obtain age determination, pursue protection orders, and support the prosecution. We work with the family, the church and, where needed, the media.

Family law

Christian marriage and its registration, divorce under the Christian Divorce Act 1869, custody and guardianship, maintenance, and succession under the Succession Act 1925. We advise before disputes and represent in the family courts.

Property and inheritance

Ownership disputes, illegal occupation, partition among heirs, and the protection of church buildings, mission schools and Christian graveyards. Our founder has advised the Evacuee Property Trust Board and understands this field from both sides.

Criminal defence and victim representation

FIR registration when the police refuse, bail at every stage, trial defence, and representation of victims of assault, arson and mob violence, including the survivors of the Jaranwala and Sargodha attacks.

Labour and bonded labour

Brick kiln workers, domestic workers and sanitary workers form the poorest part of the Christian community. We enforce the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, recover unpaid wages, and challenge unlawful dismissal.

Constitutional petitions

Writ petitions in the High Court on fundamental rights: freedom of religion, equality before the law, protection of minorities, and the duty of the state to act.

Asylum documentation and translation

Sworn statements, case histories, court records and certified Urdu-to-English translations for Pakistani Christian refugees in Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and other countries.

Every matter begins with a free first consultation.
