Empowering Young Christian Lawyers
The Christian community in Pakistan needs lawyers of its own. Most Christian families cannot afford to send a son or daughter through law college, and the few who reach the bar have no senior to guide them. Christian Lawyers Alliance Pakistan (CLAP), led by Founding Patron in Chief Advocate Soba Sorya, set out in 2020 to change that.
Fees, books and bar enrolment
CLAP supports deserving Christian students through LLB and LLM studies with help towards fees, books and bar enrolment costs.
Who can apply
- A committed Christian from Pakistan
- Admitted to, or studying in, a recognised LLB or LLM programme
- From a family that cannot meet the cost
- Willing to give time to CLAP's free cases after enrolment
How to apply
Send your admission letter, most recent results, a pastor's letter and a short statement of why you want to practise law, through the Get in Touch page with the subject "Scholarship".
Mentoring
Every sponsored student is attached to a senior CLAP advocate. Students attend court with their mentor, learn drafting, and take part in real cases. Our Press Secretary, Sherjeel Javed, began this way and went on to an LLM in the United Kingdom.
One year of one student's fees
Churches, businesses and believers abroad fund this programme. One year of one student's fees is a lifetime of service to the persecuted church. Get in touch to sponsor a student.
